Officially opened in February 2023, The Movement Bothy is a semi-permanent tent structure providing shelter from the elements and allowing movement activities to be delivered all year around to children and young people.  The Movement Bothy is a development, which will grow over time to become a space to inspire and develop movement for all members and participants.  A home for movement education, freespirit sports and fun in North East Scotland.

Situated at Woodend, Banchory, Aberdeenshire, AB31 5QA, The Movement Bothy offers a range of services including Regular Classes, Holiday Camps and Birthday Parties all designed to be specific to the age of the participants.  We offer an Annual Junior Membership for those participating in regular activities at The Movement Bothy.

Our age groups at The Movement Bothy are outlined below.  They are designed to allow our coaches to best support the development of individuals within our activities.

We are all unique and children’s development is just the same.  Children develop at different rates both physically, mentally, and socially.  Height, weight, confidence, the ability to listen or follow instruction, and many other things develop and change at different rates and are unique to each individual.  This is particularly true when we compare girl’s maturation rates to boys.  We aim to work with each child and their own rates of development as much as possible, so aim to find the most suitable class and age group for each individual.
